If you're tired of all the singing competitions on TV, then you're in luck because MTV is bringing back its dancing competition
America's Best Dance Crew this spring.
The show's seventh season will premiere Wednesday, April 11 at 10pm on
MTV. That same night will mark the premiere of MTV's new hip-hop talk
show
Hip-Hop POV at midnight.
America's Best Dance Crew sees various troupes from across the country compete for $100,000. This season will bring back the "Season of the Superstar" theme, where each week all the crews will dance to songs by the same artist.
ABDC is hosted by Mario Lopez. Former N*SYNC member J.C. Chasez and rap artist Lil Mama have been judges since season 1. The third judge has been different for each of the past three seasons, though in season 6 it was
So You Think You Can Dance all-star and former
ABDC winner with Quest Crew Dominic "D-Trix" Sandoval.
Hip-Hop POV will feature five prominent hip-hop experts discussing the news of the week. The show will also feature performances by prominent hip-hop artists. The regular panel will include:
-Charlamagne the God, a New York radio host
-Sowmya Krishnamurthy, music blogger and journalist (thesowmyalife.com)
-Bu Thiam, vice president of A&R at Def Jam
-Amanda Seales, popular DJ
-Devi Dev, radio personality from Sirius' "Sway in the Morning"
Check out both of MTV's new performance shows when they premiere Wednesday, April 11 starting at 10pm.
