Just before the
Boogie Bots were ousted from
America's Best Dance Crew, the final four of the
Randy Jackson competition on MTV were able to get out of the hotel rooms, rehearsal spaces, and the sound stage which they called home for several weeks. They trooped to the Dodger Stadium on July 30 to perform between innings.
The crews arrived well before the scheduled game at 4pm, when the stadium is still understandably empty. All of them are amazed at the size of the venue, and are awed at performing in front of such a large audience.
"It's always great to perform in front of lots of people,” said Boogie Bots member Mike Arellano. “It's different than performing on stage or on camera because the
America's Best Dance Crew set itself is a lot smaller [than it looks] and now we'll be performing for all these people live. It's going to be crazy."
Boogie Bots didn't just get eliminated on
America's Best Dance Crew's most recent episode, they got a major lashing from the judges.
Back to the stadium, the crews are just happy to be outdoors for a change. "We're just happy to be in the outdoors. I just wish I would've worn shorts," says
Super Cr3w's Mike Murda who was wearing jeans, just as some of the Dodgers started their batting practice.
Before they went on to perform, another Boogie Bots member Bryan East said they wanted to show the fans their "individual skills and show off [their] specialties [since the crews are] so diverse."
America's Best Dance Crew airs Thursday nights at 10pm EST on MTV. Next week on the show, the final three crews,
SoReal Cru, Super Cr3w, and Fanny Pack will perform routines based on the '80s.
