Last night on American Idol, Antonella Barba’s performance of “Put Your Records On” has sparked much negative feedback on her “poor” execution. With this, American Idol notorious judge, Simon Cowell, anticipates the end of Barba’s American Idol journey.

Cowell straightforwardly told Barba, "You've gone as far as you can go Antonella. I mean the reality is -- and I think you know this yourself -- which is you are surrounded by some pretty amazing girl singers. And I don't know how much more you could do to be honest with you because I don't think your voice is going to get any better."

Barba, a top 24 finalist on season 6 of American Idol, is from Point Pleasant, New Jersey, is currently studying architecture at the Catholic University in Washington, D.C. Aspiring to be a star, she went to New York to audition, made it through to Hollywood and became one of the finalists. Her popularity on American Idol came with much controversy over her titillating photos on the Internet, showing Barba and her friends topless at the beach.

Moreover, Cowell commended Barba for her courage and her being composed in dealing with her controversial provocative photos. "You know, I feel for you. You've taken a lot of stick in the media, you've handled yourself well throughout, and I don't think anybody should be put in that situation. I'm not going to patronize you here, it wasn't your worse [performance]... we've heard you sound worse. But I just have a problem here... I wish you could sing better," Cowell added.

However, Cowell’s tone with Barba depicts the essence of his disappointment in her because of her poor performance. "I always feel like the last couple of weeks you don't quite believe you... you're actually a better singer than I think you've shown," he told Barba.
