Ryan Starr Biography: Ryan Starr was born on November 21, 1982. Ryan, whose real name is Tiffany Ryan Montgomery, grew up in Sunland Los, Angeles with three sisters, but no brothers. She started singing at the age of seven and as she grew older, her taste in music gradually changed, until finally, at the age of 19, she fell in love with rock and roll. She attended Verdugo Hills High school, where she took part in many activities such as playing sports, cheerleading and singing in school events. She decided to forego college in order to focus on building her career as a rock artist. Her favorite rock artists are Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Pat Benatar and Janis Joplin. She auditioned for season 1 of American Idol because she wants to motivate the public in making their dreams come true. Ryan auditioned for season 1 of American Idol in Los Angeles with the song "Lean on Me" by Bill Withers. The judges felt that she was good enough to advance and eventually, Ryan became one of the 30 semifinalists. Her song choices for the semifinals were more unconventional, like the Nat King Cole Trio's jazz song "The Frim-Fram Sauce." When Ryan made it into the Top 10, her rendition of "If You Really Love Me" during Motown week was praised highly by the judges, including the very critical Simon Cowell. Although her performance during 1960's week was disappointing, she bounced back the following week with The Kinks "You Really Got Me." The last song she sang as a finalist was Donna Summer's "Last Dance," but when she became the seventh contestant eliminated, the judges made sure to let Ryan know that she had a bright future ahead. In 2005, Ryan's contract with RCA was terminated due to her refusal to record an album with them. The termination finally allowed Ryan to pursue her career at her own pace. Her song, "My Religion," a single which is exclusive to iTunes, hit number one on the US Billboard Hot Digital Songs Chart. The success of her single also earned Ryan a 2005 Guinness World record for "Most Exclusive Single Downloads in the History of iTunes." She has also appeared in television shows like That 70's Show, CSI and The Surreal Life, and is set to star in her own reality show. She became a member of the ONE Campaign in 2005. ryan-starr-1.jpg ryan-starr-2.jpg ryan-starr-3.jpg ryan-starr-4.jpg ryan-starr-5.jpg
