Paul Kim Biography:
25 year-old Paul Kim is from Saratoga, California. Before going to Los Angeles to audition for season 6 of
American Idol , he was cleaning pools for a living. Becoming one of the 24 semifinalists gave Paul a real shot of making it to the big leagues of the music industry. But singing isn’t the only thing that’s close to Paul’s heart. He also loves gardening and has a soft spot for nature. Moreover, he is a basketball player and has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. His favorite American Idol judge is Randy. Among his favorite artists are Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, John Legend, Mariah Carey and Sade.
Wanting to alter the stereotypical Asian image that William Hung gave during the first season, Paul Kim joined the sixth season of American Idol, where he performed without his shoes. He entered the Top 24 based on a split decision but was eliminated on February 22, 2007.
