Biography

Jon Peter Lewis Biography:

Born on November 7, 1979 in Lincoln, Nebraska, Jon Peter Lewis moved around a lot when he was growing up, and when he was 18, finally left home to be on his own in Rexburg, Idaho. Five years later, he took the loan he got for his college education and instead used it to audition for season 3 of American Idol. Jon began singing at the tender age of 3, and while attending college received some formal training in music. Jon is not only artistic but also althletic, being an avid wrestler, soccer and hockey player and diver. He enjoys listening to the music of Ella Fitzgerald and Paul McCartney. For Jon, the winner of American Idol should be someone who is worthy of praise and worship.

When Jon auditioned in Hawaii for season 3 of American Idol, Jon was not spared from Simon 's blunt criticism, especially about the way he looked. Nevertheless, Jon went on to perform with great energy and enthusiasm during the semifinals. Although he was not chosen by the public to move on to the Finals, his wildcard performance of "A Little Less Conversation" got America swinging over to his side. During the Finals, he continued to exhibit the same enthusiasm when he performed songs like "She Believes in Me" and "This Old Heart of Mine." However, his energy-filled rendition of another great Elvis Presley classic, "Jailhouse Rock," was not enough to add to votes to the ones he had gotten from his own fan base. Consequently, Jon became the fifth finalist eliminated from season 3.

After the season Finale and the concert tour, Jon decided to shift his focus to songwriting. One of the first songs he wrote was entitled "Turn To Grey," and in 2005 he wrote and recorded "It's Christmas." The song, which he did in collaboration with music producer James Collins, reached #13 on the Canadian radio charts. Under the Breaking Records recording company, Jon released his second Christmas tune, "California Christmas." In 2006, he came out with two more songs, "If I Go Away" and "Man Like Me" under his own record company, Cockaroo Entertainment.
