Antonella Barba Biography:
A native of Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Antonella Barba was busy studying architecture at the Catholic University in Washington, D.C. when she decided to try out for season 6 of
American Idol . Antonella has been singing since she was in sixth grade. At the age of 20, she and 23 other Idol contestants competed for a much-coveted spot on the Final 12. She has also gotten the opportunity to go on tour with the Monmouth Conservatory of Music. Piano and violin are her instruments of choice. She likes listening to Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder and Justin Timberlake. Her favorite judge is Simon.
One of the most popular contestants of American Idol season 6, Antonella Barba achieved cult status, not just because of her performances on the competitive reality show, but also because of her racy photographs that leaked on the internet prior to the final twelve contestants being chosen. She was voted off on March 8, 2007, but received notoriety beyond American Idol when she received offers from a number of adult entertainment entities, including Girls Gone Wild. Despite the huge money, Antonella Barba turned down the offers and has since returned to the Catholic University of America in Washington, where she majors in architecture.
