I knew Paula Abdul would get offers after she left (or fired from)
American Idol. I didn't expect she'd get a lot of offers.
Since her surprise departure from the show last week, she reveals that she's received many offers from other shows. "At this point, there are so many wonderful things that are being offered to me," the reality star told the Associated Press. "And I got to take a deep breath, sleep a little ... and go through everything."
We've heard from So You Think You Can Dance's Nigel Lythgoe from the beginning, but he admits that it might be too early to speculate on her participation on the show--and, he told reporters, he thinks Paula might return to Idol after all. If that doesn't happen, she can expect many more options: NBC has said they're willing to take her in, and most recently, ABC said they'd love to have Paula on
Dancing with the Stars "as a contestant, a participant or a judge," according to network exec Stephen McPherson.
But it's too early to make a move, Paula admits. "But I have yet to sit down and discuss anything with anyone," she said. "It's all happening within the next couple of weeks." It seems she'll start moving towards those dancing shows, though: "Dance is a love of mine," she said. And then there's her background as a Laker girl and choreographer, which we all know, yeah.
The one thing she has right now is a guest role on Lifetime's
Drop Dead Diva: she's currently shooting her two episodes, which will air on September 13 and October 11. Playing the optimistic card again, she hopes the role would end up being a recurring one. "You know, this is exactly what life's about--working with people you absolutely love working with,"
Could be an ending to an unneeded soap opera, or could be another resurgence for Paula herself. We'll see.
