A Jo Bro could be judging
American Idol next season. Following
the exits of Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, the singing competition is
looking for new judges, and 19-year-old Nick Jonas is being considered
for the job. How do we know? He
tweeted it over the weekend.
"The rumors are true... I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens."Nick Jonas was just 9 when
American Idol started and Kelly Clarkson was crowned the first winner. He would definitely add some youth appeal to the new season as they've already sewn up older fans with Mariah Carey. It also fits with FOX's other competition,
The X Factor, which hired Demi Lovato (Nick's
Camp Rock co-star) as a judge.
If
American Idol hires Nick, he won't be the first Jonas brother to judge a reality singing competition. His older brother Joe Jonas will serve as a mentor in the CW's upcoming series
The Next, premiering Wednesday, August 15. In addition, their other brother Kevin will soon debut his own E! reality show
Married to Jonas on Sunday, August 19 at 10pm.
What do you think of Nick Jonas as a judge on
American Idol? Would he be a distraction to all the young girls competing on the show? Would he be taken seriously by contestants who are older than he is?
