#9 - Blake Lewis

This may be too low of a ranking for lots of you out there, but let me say this: I'm with you.  I'm rooting for Blake.  I like him.  He's got some flaws, though, that aren't going to allow him to win this thing.  The honest truth is that he's not a great singer.  He's good, and he's got good range, but his voice isn't powerful and he's sloppy.  His falsetto, especially, is often out of tune.  He's done very well with his song choices, but I feel like, as much as he's trying to avoid this, Blake is going to feel more and more gimmicky as the season progresses.  I love his beat boxing, who doesn't, but he can't always fall back on that.  That said, I'll be rooting for him, and not just because he's from Seattle.

#10 - Gina Glocksen

I'm not a big supporter of Gina, but I can recognize that she's got some pipes.  It's possible that Gina has a few great performances in her, but we haven't seen much to support that possibility.  Her voice has gotten her to where she is, but the subtlety in that voice is lacking.  Gina is a good pick to go home this week, for a couple reasons.  I think it comes down to two of these three: Gina, Haley Scarnato, and Antonella Barba.  What have we learned about America?  They like good-looking people and both Haley and Antonella, although far worse singers, are better looking girls.  It may not be pretty, but it's the truth.

#11 - Brandon Rogers

Okay, so Brandon Rogers should be higher on this list.  I'll come clean: I'm trying out the old reverse jinx on Brandon.  If there's anyone who can make a quantum leap in the upcoming weeks, Brandon has to be the best candidate.  He has a very good voice, but he's made some horrific song choices.  He's got to come out this week and kick some ass if he wants to avoid the chopping block.  I think he has it in him.  He's claimed that he's got a lot more in him.  We'll see if he can walk the walk tonight.

#12 - Phil Stacey

I know there are a lot of you out there who are big Phil Stacey supporters.  He's good, I can give you that.  He's a fine singer.  But, he's not going to win American Idol.  Phil's a nice guy, but he's just a little too bland.  A generically good singer, with no hook, no calling card, isn't going to win this thing.  Phil could have a nice future as the frontman to some rock band, but I really can't see him going much further than the top 12. Maybe he'll prove me wrong.
