#13 - Jared Cotter
Jared is a fine singer, again, but just bland. The soul stuff he has sung just hasn't had enough soul to make it great. He's been fairly consistent, but at some point or another, more dynamic contestants are going to completely overshadow him. The thing about Jared is that I think he may be maximizing his potential out there. I don't envision him improving a whole hell of a lot. Which is okay, because he's a good singer. Just not good enough.
#14 - Haley Scarnato
With a fairly bizarre performance last week, I have no idea what Haley's going to give us next, or even what she can give us. I don't know how good she is. It doesn't seem like she has that much to give, especially compared to a number of the other girls that Haley is competing against. I have a feeling she'll be eliminated on Thursday, but, then again, I have no idea how well she'll perform on Wednesday.
#15 - Antonella Barba
Oh, Antonella. We've all pretty much seen you naked at this point. We've seen you have one terrible singing performance in front of millions of people, and one not-that-terrible performance. You half-heartedly called out Simon Cowell in front of America, ensuring his unmerciful wrath any time he comments on a performance of yours until you're eliminated. Which you probably will be on Thursday. To be fair, Antonella is a pretty darn good singer in the scheme of things, but her voice isn't strong enough to compete in a competition like this. She could probably thrive as a professional backup singer with her soprano voice and looks. But she'll probably be aspiring to bigger things...like Playboy.
#16 - Sanjaya Malakar
America, there was no excuse for voting for Sanjaya last week. Really, none. No matter what you think of him as a person or as a bearer of preposterous hair, he has been terrible on the show. Terrible. I'm not trying to be malicious here, but his singing has been awkward and soft and really bad. Stop kicking off deserving people in favor of Sanjaya.
