'Idol' Notes: Greatest Hits, Simon Cowell on Season 10, and What Nobody Asked Taylor Hicks
American Idol is still here, despite all the X-Factor buzz. Don't those previews look amazing, though? But this is about American Idol! Find out what "hits" will be on the Greatest Hits compilation, what Simon Cowell had to say about the new judges, and what Taylor Hicks tweeted about Christina Aguilera's Superbowl flub.

American Idol's "Greatest Hits"
The compilation CD will be called American Idol 10th Anniversary --The Hits. They're putting it together to remind us that some of the popular artists in music today actually came from American Idol! And to sweep less successful "idols" under the rug. Also, maybe if you hear some Kris Allen and Lee DeWyze you like, you'll buy their albums? Maybe not. Here's the track listing for the CD I wish was compiled by Matt "Big Stats" Frankel:

"Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson
"Superstar" by Ruben Studdard
"Invisible" by Clay Aiken
"When I See You" by Fantasia
"Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood
"Takin' It To The Streets" by Taylor Hicks
"Home" by Daughtry
"No Air" by Jordin Sparks (with Chris Brown)
"Light On" by David Cook
"Live Like We're Dying" by Kris Allen
"Whataya Want From Me" by Adam Lambert
"Sweet Serendipity" by Lee DeWyze

Yeah, those "hits" sure have ... been released! Idolator asks what we're all wondering--why not just release hits from the actual show? Well, it's too late now. Would you buy this compilation CD?

What Simon Thinks of the New Idol
Well, as we might have guessed, he hasn't really been watching. Why would he? But he saw some clips and told the Today show, "They look good. I think they're doing fine. They have a different approach to what I used to do before. I think the show has to reinvent itself and I think it's right that it's a different show to what we made before. I left the show on fantastic terms. I still talk to Randy and Ryan. We're still good friends."
He's friends with Ryan even though he's not under contract? Do you agree with Simon? [Zap2it]

This is Not a Scandal: Who Asked You, Soul Patrol?
Taylor Hicks has some choice tweets for Christina Aguilera when it comes to her stumble over the words in the National Anthem at the Superbowl. He tweeted:

"Christina Aguilera hopes 'true spirit' of anthem came through http://usat.me/141805. What a JOKE. Practice OUR ANTHEM before u sing it."

Just ask for a Teleprompter. They don't have to show the prompter on TV. Or just memorize it and go slow. Or use it as a publicity stunt."

Uh, I'm pretty sure she practiced, Taylor Hicks. Good tips, I'm sure she'll write those down. But way to stand up for "OUR ANTHEM" and AMERICA. You are the AMERICAN Idol, after all. [PerezHilton]
