As part of American Idol third placer Danny Gokey's trip towards fame in the country music scene, he's making a stop at the genre's biggest stage: the Grand Ole Opry.

Danny will be part of the Opry's show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Friday, January 8. His performance is part of the Opry's fifth annual Sound & Speed event, which sees celebrities from the worlds of country music and NASCAR together to raise funds for ill children, as well as for the Country Music Hall of Fame.
He will be performing alongside country stars Holly Williams, Chris Young and Hank Williams Jr., as well as NASCAR racer Kyle Petty. Tickets sell from $32 and are now available online.

Actually, this reminds me of Danny's performance on Grand Ole Opry week--here's the slideshow I made months back--and yes, I remember that he did pretty well there. Now he's performing with the same people, and pretty much following (recently engaged) Carrie Underwood's footsteps. We'll see how this goes, then.
