, fourth place finalist on season 5 of American Idol
, is crabby despite his rock star status, best-selling album, and his swarm of fans worldwide.
Recently, Daughtry was asked to play at a lunchtime-set at the Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian but was not in a charitable mood. He canceled the scheduled Q&A session and when a hospital employee requested him to sign some pictures from American Idol
for the hospital scrapbook, he uttered out loud, ''How did they get all these cheesy photos?''
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
Moreover, when the hospital administrator introduced him as ''Chris from American Idol,” he discreetly turned to a member of his entourage and says, ''Are they even
going to mention the album? Are they even going to talk about the band? It's just Idol
,'' saying it with contempt.
Assessing his career, it has been a good year for Daughtry, having a hit solo album and numerous city tours. So why is Daughtry so gloomy lately? Daughtry comes off as professional, but flat and unenthused. ''There's this misconception that you get famous and everything is perfect,'' he says, sounding exhausted. ''If anything, it's harder.''
Ultimately, he expressed his feelings about being away from home and how all these things put stress to his marriage. He adds, ''I think that every artist wants to break away from [Idol]. You can't force it, though. You can't say, 'Don't call me Chris from American Idol.' That's going to have to happen on its own.''
