American Idol news doesn't stop for the Grammys! Nope, the
Idol new
machine keeps rolling on. But since music's biggest night was also a big night for at least one
Idol, we will start there.
Huge congrats to season 4 winner
Carrie
Underwood who was the only
Idol winner at last night's Grammys. She won
her fifth Grammy last night for her duet with Randy Travis. "I Told You
So" won for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals.
But like I said, it's not all Grammy's all the time!
Matt Giruad,
season 8's soulful crooner, is celebrating his new duet with Anna
Wilson "You Don't Know Me" and it's number one spot on the iTunes jazz
chart modestly. He told a reporter from
USA Today on the Grammy red
carpet that he celebrated by having rehearsal and "we bought two $5
bottles of champagne and one plastic cup. That's all we could afford."
Simon Cowell's Haiti relief single is ready to go. The 21 guest vocalists,
including Susan Boyle, Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart, Kylie Minogue, Miley
Cyrus, Michael Buble, and Jon Bon Jovi, have all recorded their tracks.
The single will be
released in the UK on February 7th. All proceeds
will go to the Sun newspaper's Helping Haiti fund and the Disasters
Emergency Committee.
Speaking of Haiti relief singles,
Jennifer Hudson and Kathraine McPhee
have both joined on for the
remake of "We Are The
World." There are reportedly as many as 100 stars involved in the
project including Lady Gaga, Bono, Jason Mraz, and Carlos Santana.
We'll keep you updated to see if any more Idol stars join in.
Not only is she a five time Grammy winner,
Carrie Underwood is also
number one on T-Pains collaboration wishlist. When asked who he next
wanted to collaborate with, he was adamant about the American Idol
winner: "Next on my list is Carrie Underwood. I swear to God. Everybody
else can suck it until I get to Carrie Underwood." Hear that Carrie
Underwood and everyone else? T-Pain wants to be on a boat, or at the
very least in the studio, with Carrie Underwood.
