More than a couple of years after releasing his debut solo album called Analog Heart,
American Idol winner
David Cook is set to release his first post-AI album on November 18. Recently, the 25-year-old Missouri native gave his fans a first look at the album cover and a list of the song titles on the self-titled album. Two of the songs on the list were already released, “Light On,” and his
American Idol theme “Time of My Life.” Cook either wrote or co-wrote 11 of the 12 tracks on the album.
His runner-up
David Archuleta will reportedly be releasing his very own debut album on November 11, refuting earlier rumors that the two David's will go face-to-face and release their albums on the same day. According to Entertainment Weekly, Cookie fans who pre-order the full album on iTunes will be getting an exclusive bonus track.
For his part, Cook will also be making the rounds in the television shows starting with an appearance on the long-running sketch show
Saturday Night Live on November 1. He will also grace the sets of
The Ellen DeGeneres Show,
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,
Live with Regis and Kelly, and
Good Morning America. All these on top of filming a video for “Light On” to be directed by Wayne Isham. This single, produced by Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo of Green Day and Kid Rock, is now available via all digital music providers. When it premiered on an AOL site late September, “Light On” received over 1 million plays in less than a week.
Here's a full list of the tracks on the upcoming album. Notice the "m" in the final track. Cook reportedly specified that it be capitalized.
