Who will it be?  American Idol eliminations have been surprising time and time again this season - are we in for another one tonight?  Here's the thing, though - the only "surprising" eliminations possible tonight are from David Archuleta or David Cook.  No one else (Syesha Mercado, Brooke White, or Jason Castro) would be much of a shock, and everyone is assuming that the Davids are safe.  However, if American Idol continues on as it has all season, than it is certainly possible that a David might be kicked off the show.  Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself that it's possible David Archuleta could go home, because I really, really want him to.  My prediction for the night: Jason Castro eliminated.  I'll be here throughout the results show, giving live updates as the results come in.  Feel free to comment below with your thoughts.

And here we go.  45 million votes came in last night.  Neil Diamond and Natasha Bedingfield are both going to perform tonight.

The group song begins with Castro singing "Cracklin' Rosie."  Archuleta continues and sucks the life out of the room.  This is all quite terrible.  Sound problems, out of tune nonsense, Archuleta pissing me off.  Dare I say: the worst group song of the year?  I'd like to hear your thoughts, BuddyTV commenters.

Constantine Maroulis and Gina Glocksen are in the house tonight.  Yay?

Man, that's not a flattering shot of Carrie Underwood on that stamp.  Anyway, recap/nap time.

So - weird - Ryan says that all the rumors about Paula are not true.  Wait, so, she's not dumb?

Jason Castro is brought on stage first for the results.  He is safe. WHAAAAA....

This is crazy.  He was my pick to go home. 

David Archuleta is the next to grace the stage for results.  Please be in the bottom two.  Please be in the bottom two. 

Damn - he is safe.  Weak sauce, America.

This is new - they're showing a preview of So You Think You Can Dance during Idol.  Yep.  Thank you, FOX, for finding new shameless barriers to break.  In-show commercials. 

David Cook is brought to the center of the stage.  He is safe.  Which means...

Brooke White and Syesha Mercado are your bottom two. 

Natasha Bedingfield is singing a song I've never heard.  In fact, I've never seen Natasha before.  She's pretty cute...for an English girl.  Zing!  Take that, you silly Limeys.  Song is typical Euro-pop.  Not terrible, I guess.  After her song, Natasha goes over and hugs Archuleta.  You can do better, ma'am.

Ryan takes calls from America.  I'm going to not comment on this - - unless something scandalous happens.  OK, so this is funny.  A woman from England calls named Tara Miller - she was Simon's first kiss when they were 9.  It's actually pretty cute, and I feel stupid typing that. 

Neil Diamond performs and he's not bad.  The song I can do without, but Neil still has a special kind of charisma that has been key to his long, long career.  One more commercial break, then the final results.

Final results time.  Syesha or Brooke.

Brooke White has been eliminated.  Hmm.  That was expected, for the first time.  She is bawling.
