American Horror Story is making room for more characters for its sophomore season, which is set at an East Coast mental institution for the criminally insane in the 1960s. Aside from returning stars Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe, fans should expect at least nine more new faces. Read on to find out more.
Oscar nominee
James Cromwell is also in talks to join the new season for a 10-episode arc opposite Lange.
Deadline.com reports that he will play the role of Dr. Arden, who faces off with his employer (Lange) at the institution where he works.
Another fellow Oscar nominee, Big Love actress Chloe Sevigny, is coming on board the Ryan Murphy series. She will play a woman who's obsessed with sex and whose husband has placed her in the asylum. Additionally, FlashForward star Joseph Fiennes has been added to the cast as another possible love interest for Lange's character while The Secret Circle's Chris Zylka has been tapped to play a character named Daniel, who is described as "the most beautiful boy in the world and a deaf mute"

Lizzie Brochere will play a character described as "extremely sexual and dangerous wild-child sexpot."

Clea Duvall will appear in multiple episodes though her role has not yet been revealed. It has been reported, however, that she is expected to share scenes with co-star Paulson.

Mark Consuelos will appear as a patient named Spivey.
