The Emmy Awards are here. While the Primetime ceremony will air Sunday, September 20 on FOX, the Creative Arts Emmys took place Saturday. September 12.

The Creative Arts Emmys honor the technical achievements of the year, from editing and cinematography to stunts and visual effects. It’s also where the first four acting Emmys are presented for guest stars on dramas and comedies.

Game of Thrones dominated the event by winning eight Emmys for its fifth season. The all-time record for most Emmys in one year is nine for The West Wing‘s first season, and GoT still has five more categories to compete in at the Primetime ceremony.

American Horror Story: Freak Show finished the night with five Emmy wins while the HBO TV movie Bessie and the Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special both won four.

The biggest controversy of the evening is probably Margo Martindale winning for the guest role on FX’s The Americans. In the episode she submitted, she only had about two and a half minutes of screentime, yet she still won,
