Beginning on February 4,
American Gladiators will expand to 90 minutes. On February 4 and February 11,
Gladiators will start the night off at 8pm on NBC, run for 90 minutes, and will be followed by 90-minute versions of
Deal or No Deal. This is in anticipation of
Gladiators' first season finale. The two-hour finale is set for Sunday, February 17. It will begin at the special time of 7pm, and will be followed by the tw- hour TV movie/backdoor pilot for the reincarnation of
Knight Rider.
Medium, which is going to be pre-empted on January 28 thanks to the State of the Union Address, will not return until February 18, where it will begin a six week run of new episodes.

I watched
American Gladiators for the first time since it debuted last night and, I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like the show has improved from the premiere. It seems a lot more fast paced, with less contrived trash talking and shorter contestant interviews. Nonetheless, here are some problems I hope
American Gladiators fix before season 2 begins production:
1) Give the ladies a break – the men often have a difficult time finishing the Eliminator, let's make it easier for the ladies. I'm tired of seeing both female contestants gassed and unable to make it up the final inverted treadmill.
2) Go back to the original Assault. Seriously, watch the tape, and make it exactly the same. You can make the weapons look cooler or whatever, but no more of this searching for the arrows and whatnot.
3) Fire
Hellga. It's a good thought, but they shouldn't have just cast someone to look the part of Viking Wench – get someone who brings something to the table.
4) Get
Laila Ali some interviewing lessons.
5) Stop beginning every show with the Gauntlet. It's my least favorite event.
