American Dragon: Jake Long is an animated series created by Jeff Goode about the quest of Jake, a descendant of the shape-changing dragons, to protect the community of magical creatures secretly living among the crowd in New York.
Throughout the series American Dragon: Jake Long, Jake is trained to use his magical powers by his grandfather with a 600-year old Shar Pei named Fu Dog. As the main focus of the show, Jake is tasked to defend the magical creatures of the city from numerous wicked beings, especially the Huntsclan led by the Huntsman. Although Jake resides with his parents Johnathan and Susan, and his eight-year-old sister who is also a dragon, Haley, his father does not know about the nature of his family being dragons. But his best friends, Trixie and Spud, are very much aware of his secret. In addition, the plot is driven by Jake's exploration for balance between his life as a schoolboy and his secret life as a powerful magical guardian. American Dragon: Jake Long is produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. It airs 3PM/ 2C on the Disney Channel.
