Frank Merino is an American television and movie actor. Originally hailing from Peru, when he was five years old, his family moved to Southern California. Frank Merino has played supporting roles in several films, appearing in Thirteen, Wrong Turn, and The Last Shot. He's also worked on television series such as Judging Amy,
The Shield , Invasion,
Grey's Anatomy , and
Standoff . His comic inspiration is the late comedian Fortino Reyes, famed for the character Cantinflas, and says that his first word in English was “strawberry.”
Luis is played by Frank Merino on the television comedy series American Body Shop. An immigrant of Latino descent, he often speaks up about how much he misses his home country and his family, though nobody else seems to care. He spoke passionately about La Revolucion, which turned out to be a Mariachi band rather than an event. When an actual revolution broke out in his country and he tried garnering support for it, everyone simply told him that they hated Mariachi music. Luis is also popular with women and has a mysterious charm, sounding quite seductive and romantic even when none of them can understand a word that he says. Though he seldom complains, he is well-aware of the social gap between minorities and white Americans and is against “The White American Dream.”
