Born Thorsten Ernst Keiselbach on February 22, 1966 in Mainz, Germany, Thorsten Kaye was raised in London. He headed to the United States after high school to pursue a scholarship at the United States International University in San Diego, California. He majored in physical education and minored in drama. Unfortunately he got into an accident which made him change his career paths. He later finished college with a degree in fine arts. He earned his master's degree in theater and theater history from the Wayne State University. Kaye had theater projects before taking on television shows. He first appeared on TV in the daytime series
One Life to Live. His other appearances included
Sliders,
Air America,
Falcone,
The Prophet's Game,
Shark Attack II. In 2000, he was cast for the role of Ian Thornhardt in the TV series
Port Charles and in 2004 he was cast for the soap opera
All My Children.
Zachary "Zach" Slater is played by Thorsten Kaye in the soap opera
All My Children. Zach was born Alexander Cambias, Jr. and was named after his father. When Zach was growing up, he was under the tyrannical rule of his father who wanted him to run the family empire. Zach, however, was not interested. With the help of Zach's younger brother, he faked his death and took on a new identity with the name Zach Slater. To support himself, he entered various jobs and later won a casino from Marshall Rodner. From here he built an empire of casinos. He then met Maureen Gorman with whom he fell in love with. His feelings were reciprocated although Maureen had amnesia and her real identity went by the name of Maria Santos Grey.
