Jeff Branson is best known for his role on the ABC soap opera All My Children in which he played the role of Jonathan Lavery. He also appeared as guest on NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. His film appearances include Shaft, Wolves of Wall Street, Four Lane Highway, and The Big Bad Swim. He also appeared in the CBS soap opera Guiding Light.

Jonathan Lavery is played by Jeff Branson in the soap opera All My Children. Jonathan is the younger brother of Ryan Lavery. He was the son of Patrick and Gail Curry Lavery and has three siblings, two of which were deceased. He graduated from business school and was hired to work at Cambias Industries. His brother was shot by a woman he was once involved with, and his sister-in-law was also murdered mysteriously. Later, Jonathan was romantically involved with Maggie Stone who later became his fiancé. This was when he revealed the other side of his personality, which was an abusive man who hit his woman. Because of his abusive behavior, Maggie left him. In March 2005, the mysteries of the past were uncovered and Jonathan was responsible for the death of his brother Ryan and his wife Greenlee. He got entangled in numerous mysteries and relationships with women, including one with Lily, an autistic girl.
