Colin Egglesfield was born February 9, 1973, in Farmington Hills, Michigan. He is the second child of William and Mary Egglesfield and had spent his early childhood in the Metro Detroit area. When he was ten, his family moved to Crete, Illinois. He was very studious as he grew up, aspiring to be a physician like his father. However, he became interested in acting when he watched his older sister, Kerry perform. In his adolescent years he was shy and gawky, thus he turned to his prep football coach for help. He gained self-esteem and credits the coach for that. He attended the University of Iowa's pre-med school and did modeling to fund the rest of his time in medical school. He only left medicine to pursue a modeling career when he won a contest. He then modeled for Versace, Calvin Klein, and Armani among others before he turned to acting. Gilmore Girls ,
Charmed , and
Nip/Tuck . He also had a small role in Must Love Dogs, aside from many other minor film projects. In 2005 he made his debut on All My Children where he played Josh Madden.
Josh Madden is played by Colin Egglesfield in All My Children. Josh is the son of Erica Kane and Jeff Martin and was presumed to be aborted. What his parents did not know is that attending Doctor Greg Madden took the embryo and implanted it in his wife. In July 2006, Josh found out his true identity. He also loved Babe Chandler who was married to JR Chandler, although they once had sex. Babe chose JR over him and this left him heartbroken and more eager to fight for her love.
