Alec Musser was born on April 11, 1973 in New York City and was raised in New Jersey and Connecticut. He moved to San Diego when he was a teenager and eventually attended the University of San Diego. He credits his parents for the way he was brought up, giving importance to education, morals and ethics. He has a brother who has been his competition in many things like grades and sports since they were young. Musser moved to California to work as a professional ski patrol after college. He said that it was the most fun and rewarding job he ever had. He had also worked as a lifeguard at one point in his life. It was then when he was approached by a modeling agent and convinced him to work as a model. He launched his modeling career by posing for Abercrombie and Fitch, Gian Franco Feree, GQ, Cosmopolitan, Men's Health, Speedo and Target. After a lot of commercials and shoots, he was cast in I Wanna Be a Soapstar, not knowing he would come out triumphant in the reality show. He was then cast for the role on All My Children. Musser's hobbies include sports and traveling.

Del Henry is played by Alec Musser in the soap opera All My Children. Del was in search of his half-sister, Dixie Martin when he came to Pine Valley. When he found her, he told her the truth about Dixie's father's affair with his mother, thus producing him in the process. She was shocked at first but eventually they became close friends. Del had a degenerative kidney disorder and needed a transplant so Dixie agreed to give Del one of her kidneys, even if her husband was against it.
