The world of daytime soap dramas and reality television came together when
All My Children eye candy,
Cameron Mathison became one of the contestants on the most recent edition of
Dancing with the Stars. And now it's
Dancing with the Stars'
Maksim Chmerkovskiy who will grace ABC's
All My Children later this month.
In other news, a handful of
All My Children's cast members will take part in this year's ABC Daytime Salutes Broadway/Equity Fights AIDS.
First up though, once again we're in for a crossover between
All My Children and
Dancing with the Stars. According to
OK! Magazine,
Dancing's Maksim Chmerkovskiy will guest star on an
All My Children's episode scheduled for February 26.
Appearing as himself, Chmerkovskiy will instruct the ladies of Fusion Cosmetics in the fine and sultry art of pole dancing. Leading the pack of Chmerkovskiy's eager students will be Annie Lavery, played by
Melissa Claire Egan. Annie will surely be hoping to pick up enough scintillating moves to get a rise out of hubby Ryan, whose interest has turned elsewhere since suffering from amnesia. Fittingly, Ryan Lavery is portrayed by Cameron Mathison, who danced his heart and muscles out in season 5 of
Dancing with the Stars.
Chmerkovskiy's appearance on the February 26 episode of
All My Children marks his debut in daytime drama. On
Dancing, he partnered
Relic Hunter Tia Carrere in season 2, singer
Willa Ford in season 3, female boxer
Laila Ali in season 4 and Spice Girl
Melanie Brown last season.
In related news, Cameron Mathison will host the fourth annual ABC Daytime Salutes Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS on March 2, at the Town Hall on 123 West 43rd Street. The event will also feature some of Mathison's fellow
All My Children regulars, Rebecca Budig (Greenlee Smythe),
Aiden Turner (Aidan Devane) and
Bobbie Eakes (Krystal Martin).
