As reported previously,
Colin Egglesfield has been taken off his contract on
All My children, consequently being dropped to recurring status. While the daytime drama has called off future plans for his character Joshua Madden, a show spokesperson reveals that Egglesfield will not have a final airdate and will continue to appear on
All My Children on “an as-needed basis.”
According to Soaps.com, Egglesfield will finally return to
All My Children in January. Joshua first came to Pine Valley on June 17, 2005 and was originally played by Scott Kinworthy until September 2005. Following Kinworthy's departure, he has been portrayed by Egglesfield. He was last seen when Kendall helped him escape from Zach.
Aside from the return of Colin Egglesfield, fans can also look forward to several special appearances before the year comes to a close. It has been reported that Francesca James will be gracing an episode dedicated to
Eileen Herlie (Myrtle), airing on December 19. Additionally, show creator Agnes Nixon will also return as Aggie.
Francesca James originally joined the cast of
All My Children in 1972 as Kitty Shea Davis and later as Kitty's identical twin sister, Kelly Cole Tyler. More often than not, she would sing songs that she had composed. She portrayed Kelly until 1980, making sporadic appearances until 1995, and a special appearance in 2005 for the funeral of Phoebe Tyler Wallingford.
Nixon, on the other hand, recently appeared on the show's 10,000th episode, which aired on November 12. As Aggie, she played the ghost of the woman who started Pine Valley in 1870 and was carrying a large book entitled
All My Children, and knew everyone's history, even mentioning her dear friends Myrtle Fargate and Palmer Cortlandt. The purpose of her visit was to assure the traumatized town residents that Pine Valley could rise up out of the ashes after a series of tornadoes brought death and devastation.
