Ron Rifkin was born Saul M. Rifkin on October 31, 1939 in New York, New York. Rifkin won the 1998 Tony Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for his work on the revival of Cabaret. On the big screen, he has appeared in movies like L.A. Confidential, The Negotiator, Boiler Room, Keeping the Faith and The Sum of All Fears. He is best known for portraying the unscrupulous, obsessed, cunning and treacherous Arvin Sloane on the hit spy drama, Alias.
Arvin Sloane, played by Ron Rifkin on Alias, is the diminutive yet seemingly invincible head of the terrorist faction, SD-6. His obsession with the works and prophesies of the architect/inventor, Milo Rambaldi, has led him to many acts of violence and terrorism. He was married to Emily Sloane and had an affair with KGB agent, Irina Derevko, with whom he has a daughter, Nadia, who is Sydney Bristow’s half sister.
