Johnson and Johnson heiress Casey Johnson, who recently became the subject of controversy for getting engaged to A Shot at Love
star Tila Tequila, was found dead in Los Angeles. She was 30.
According to TMZ
, the cause of death is still undetermined but a law enforcement source said that it appears Johnson had been already dead for several days before her body was discovered. And now, the LAPD has opened a death investigation.
Johnson, who leaves a daughter named Ava, reportedly stayed at Tila Tequila's house on December 28, and was fighting with the reality TV starlet the week before that. The Shot at Love
star attempted to contact Johnson on December 29 because Johnson had left her dogs behind but, according to Tila Tequila, her phone has been shut off since.
Tequila herself confirmed the news on her Twitter account.
"Everyone please pray 4 my Wifey Casey Johnson. She has passed away," she wrote. "Thank u for all ur love and support but I will be offline to be w family."
A rep for the Johnson family issued a statement as well.
"The Johnson family is mourning its tragic loss, and asks for privacy during this very difficult time," the statement read.
Aside from her love life, Casey Johnson made tabloid headlines for a series of squabbles, including a fight with girlfriend Courtenay Semel, daughter of former Yahoo chief Terry Semel, which reportedly resulted in Johnson's hair catching on fire last October. She was also charged for grand theft. More importantly, the openly gay socialite was the great-great granddaughter of the founder of the pharmaceutical giant, and the daughter of New York Jets owner Robert Wood Johnson.
