It's an understatement to say that
Double Shot At Love contestant Kandice Hutchinson's death was an unfortunate occurrence. After her involvement on the show's production, she was reportedly killed in a car accident last October. Sources say that a vehicle allegedly hit the rear end of the 22-year-old makeup artist's car, causing her to be ejected as the vehicle burst into flames. Despite Hutchinson's demise, the producers of the MTV series are still pushing through with the premiere of
Double Shot at Love. What's more, they're dedicating the entire episode to Kandice.
The executives of
Double Shot at Love have claimed that they still plan on including footage of Hutchinson as one of the 24 contestants on the show. She'll be seen vying for the affections of bisexual twins Rikki and Vikki, but with a few edits here and there. Out of respect for the family, the reality dating series won't be showing scenes depicting Kandice's outrageous behavior.
However, Hutchinson's mother, Valerie Campbell, has a different take on the matter. Even though she appreciates MTV cutting out some of her daughter's craziest show moments, she doesn't mind seeing the real deal. Campbell told TMZ that she isn't exactly happy with the editing. She says that she knows that it's just the way her daughter was, and it's exactly the way she wants to see her.
There hasn't been any clear statement on the final decision of the network, but the series is going to air its first episode tomorrow anyway. Whether or not any shocking footage of Kandice will be shown,
Double Shot at Love will push through. Apparently, there won't just be a single episode focusing on her.
“We were deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Kandice,” an MTV spokesperson announced. “We plan to air a tribute during the season.”
Reading that, it seems as though Kandice Hutchinson will be remembered by many even prior to the start of
Double Shot at Love. The reality dating series following two seasons of
A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila will premiere tomorrow night, December 9 at 10pm on MTV.
