Is 'A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila' Not Entirely Real?
A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila was a bit of gamble for MTV. Its eponymous lead might be an internet sensation, but would all those online fans turn into regular viewers when their MySpace friend appeared as a walking, talking, dating TV personality?

Just in case the draw of Tila Tequila wasn't enough, MTV had another angle with which to draw viewers: the bisexual dating show. It could appeal to viewers out of sheer novelty, a desire to see which sex would prevail or just out of pure voyeurism.

But now a source says that this angle was entirely fabricated.

The New York Post reports that a source close to A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila is claiming that Tila's bisexuality is "all a sham."

The source also says that "Tila has and has had a boyfriend for over a year, and she's not really bi. She's made out with some girls in her past, as all girls have, but she is not bi at all."

The boyfriend is “like five years older than her,” says the source, and this boyfriend is “why they are not continuing with the show [for a second season], because she won't dump him."

The source contends the show “is a massive scam” and that Tila has become “a diva” and “a nightmare to work with,” arriving late and not talking to any of the contestants between takes.

Tila's rep deny the claims of false bisexuality and difficulty.

Additionally, there are a few things about this report that give me pause. For one, the rep describes Tila's actions on set in the present tense – didn't the show wrap months ago? For another, if she does, in fact, have a boyfriend, he must be the world's most supportive (and secure) partner, willing to not only watch her make out with the numerous contestants, but also have the ego-crushing experience of having to pretend to not exist while the nation watches his woman get it on left and right.

And the last reason why I'm not entirely sure about this report is that if Tila were that good of an actress, what is she doing on a reality show? Whenever A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila is doing the “reality show stuff,” i.e., eliminations, challenge announcements, etc., Tila is pretty wooden and stiff. It seems fairly obvious when she's using words someone else gave her to say. However, in her interactions and private moments with the contestants, she seems pretty real, relative to the Bizarro world of a reality show. If it's all an act, it seems like the division wouldn't be as stark.

What do you think?
