A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila: Bobby to Appear on Valentine's Day "Showmance" Special

The word “showmance” has a couple different meanings. It initially meant a romance that blossomed on a reality show, but there is now the additional layer of nuance that can insinuate it is also a romance that is all for show, i.e., not entirely genuine.

Of course, no one but the actual showmance participants ever really knows for certain how genuine or fake the relationship really was and what each individual's intentions were going into it.

To this day, we don't really know if Tila Tequila really intended to find love or just a new career opportunity through A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, but Bobby Banhart has indicated that he did have genuine feelings for her no matter how things ultimately turned out. He'll now be appearing on a Valentine's Day special as a representative of one-half of one of The Top 25 Hottest Reality Showmances.

The special will be airing on the Fox Reality Channel, “the only all-reality, all-the-time cable and satellite network” on Valentine's Day – February 14 – at 7pm Eastern. Kennedy will be the host.

The press release for the show lists the A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila winner as part of a big reality line-up, saying the special “features interviews with reality TV's greatest couples including Christopher Knight and Adrianne Curry (My Fair Brady); Jackie Warner and Rebecca Cardon (Work Out); and Matt Hoover and Suzy Preston (The Biggest Loser). There are also interviews with some of the most talked about showmance players including New York (I Love New York) and Bobby Banhart (A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila). The special will also feature appearances by Rob and Amber Mariano (Survivor and The Amazing Race); Jeff Probst (Survivor); and Julianne Hough and Helio Castroneves (Dancing with the Stars).”

The president of the network says, “What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with memorable love matches made on reality television…In addition to mud-slinging, deception and drama, showmance is one aspect that makes reality television so addicting.”
