A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila: Tila Explains it All to Tyra
Wednesday, November 14, 2007

Quite a few bisexual and lesbian women have passed through the America's Next Top Model house over the past nine cycles.

Tyra Banks, though, doesn't really spend too much time getting to know the contestants beyond learning what buttons to push to best elicit tears in the elimination panels.

So she apparently still has some questions about how this whole bisexuality thing works. Luckily, Tila Tequila made a recent appearance on Tyra's talk show to explain her dating life as represented by A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila.

No, actually, that's not exactly accurate. The dating life represented on A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila is what can best be summed as “lowest common denominator television.”

Tila, on the other hand, away from the structure of the show - in which she seems to primarily deliver wooden one-liners read from a cue card out of the corner of her eye - actually sounds like a rather appealing person. Like someone who might actually have been able to build an audience without the spectacle of (bull) penis-eating and faux whipping sessions.

She seems…cute. And…fun. Much more appealing than she does on A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. If we had been seeing more of this Tila on the show, there probably would be a bigger desire to see her come back again for another season.

But, then again, right, she found love on this season, so she doesn't want to come back.

She reiterated this to Tyra, pointedly calling her new love “this person” to avoid giving any clues as to gender.

Tyra asked her a lot of questions, primarily about how different things are sexually between being with a man and being with a woman. The hysterical thing about the exchange was that Ms Tyra, who's always so careful to point out she's being Model Sexy, not Hoochie Sexy, was the one who couldn't seem to get her mind off S-E-X. While lil' Tila, who made a name for herself as being not a whole heck of a lot more than a sexy lady on the internets, kept trying to steer Tyra back to the emotional differences that contribute to her bisexuality.

Tila pointed out again that with women, there's greater trust immediately, whereas with men (and Tyra, apparently) it's always about sex sex sex. Ergo, Tila says, men have to work a lot harder to win her over. With women, on the other hand, she's more likely to try to win them over, buying gifts and spoiling them.

Tyra did pry a bit of sexual dish from the suddenly demure Tila, when she admitted that because she has to dominate and be strong so much in her day-to-day life, she likes to be more submissive in her sexual life with men. “Don't get it twisted!” she laughingly cautioned, though, saying it's just a role-playing thing and she can still be counted on to be strong in that arena as well.

Well, we will still have to wait, with bated breath and on the edge of our seats, to find out just who “that person” is for Tila
