When we left the Ikki Twins last week, a pox had been thrown upon their house by a jilted lesbian life-guard. After being eliminated,
Jen screamed for the Ikki twins and all to hear: "I hope you both fall in love with the same people and have it all go to shit." Well-thrown pox Jen, because it's totally happening. Despite having a mansion full of available, hot-bodied, twenty-somethings of both sexes throwing themselves at them,
Vikki and Rikki only have eyes for the same few people:
Trevor,
Rebekah, and
Josh. A problem which we predict will only get ickier.
If tonight's
Double Shot of Love episode had been titled the same way
Friends episodes were, it would've been called: "The One Where Everyone Cries." For a bunch of 20 somethings living in a mansion, with endless supplies of alcohol and where anything goes sexually--there is an awful lot of crying. Every segment of tonight's show featured someone crying. The main offenders were
Nick and Rikki, but Vikki joined in on the water-works as well. Sensitive "singer" Nick seems to have tears that are actually contagious; as every time he's in a room or even mentioned, Rikki breaks down in tears. Rikki swears she has some deep connection with Nick, but the only thing they seem to have in common is lots and lots of crying. Not exactly the basis for a great relationship.
Nick, it turns out, garners strong emotions from everyone in the house. While Rikki can't stop crying about him, the rest of his housemates hate him. Rosie throws a drink on him during a disagreement and asks to be led out of the room so she doesn't punch the pretty-boy. Then, Jersey boy Scott goes totally insane Drill Sergeant on Nick--for making the Ikki Twins cry no less, and he threatens to kill Nick. If drink-throwing and death are the other options, we guess making some cry whenever you're in their presences isn't that bad of a reaction. On the opposite side of the spectrum is golden-boy Trevor, who can do no wrong. Not only does he school his competitors in the challenges, he's actually polite to his housemates, and inspires no murderous-rage in anyone.
Trevor does so well in the ridiculous Ikki competitions, that he wins his second private date with the twins. To get the private date Trevor and his teammate Xoe won the all important "Licky to Ikki" challenge. For this challenge, contestants had to lick icing off two female mannequins for an hour and whichever team got the most icing off the mannequins won. With tongues bleeding from licking fiberglass for an hour, Trevor and Xoe accompanied the Ikki twins to a drive-in movie. Unlike last week's episode, which involved creepy two-on-one dating, this private date allowed both twins to spend some one-on-one time with Trevor and Xoe. During their time together, Trevor and Rikki have what is the first honest and genuine conversation we've heard in the entirety of A Double Shot at Love. The two seem to actually be getting to know each other, gaining trust in one another, and setting a strong foundation for a meaningful relationship.
Meanwhile, Vikki is trying her tried and true method of making out with everyone to see if she likes them. Within the course of the episode Vikki makes out with every single one of the 8 remaining contestants. While her sister Rikki doesn't approve of Vikki's method, she's not the one bawling her eyes out every five seconds. So, Vikki just might be on to something...kiss now, cry later. On the other hand, it's Rikki that everyone seems smitten with. Both Trevor and Xoe declared their preference for the sobbing-sister after their private date. When it comes down to elimination time, it's clear who'll be safe and who'll be going home. It's the contagious-crier Nick and lovable but quiet Kali who are sent home, while the six remaining contestants still have a shot at love with the Ikkis.
Next Week on A Double Shot of Love: The Ikki twins find out about Josh and Rosie's make-out session and some serious yelling and door slamming goes down.
