A Double Shot at Love: Episode 5 Recap
The most recent episode of A Double Shot at Love left us asking one question over and over again: is Josh insane or just a pathological liar? In the 5th Episode of A Double Shot at Love, we join the Ikki twins and the six remaining contestants: Trevor, Scott, Josh, Rebekah, Xoe, and Rosemarie. Everything seems to be going swell with everyone: the Ikki's are falling for a couple of the contestants, while making out with the rest of them and the other contestants are getting along really well. Two of them, Josh and Rosemarie are getting a long a little too well; especially if they are really there to find love with Vikki or Rikki, and not with each other.

As we know, Rosie and Josh, have hooked up at least once before, during the first night of residence in the casa de Ikki. Somehow, despite being a reality TV show filled with opportunistic competitors who'd usually scream this information from the rooftop, no one has clued the Ikki Twins in on this make-out session. But that's all about to change, in a spectacularly dramatic way. When the Ikki's call the remaining contestants into the elimination room for "confession time," you know it's all over for the covert-couple.

It's saint-surfer-boy Trevor who first speaks up about Josh and Rosemarie's undercover tryst. He says he "knows what hooking up sounds like" and was so uncomfortable laying next to Josh and Rosemarie's make-out session that he slept in the closet that first night. Of course, the Ikki Twins begin to cry about this and immediately confront Josh, asking if he did hook up with Rosemarie on the first night. Josh, who wouldn't know the truth if it sat on his head, denies, denies, denies. When the Ikki Twins ask Rosemarie what happened she also initially denies anything happened, before eventually admitting the two of them were really drunk and made-out for "like two seconds." Josh, who at first said nothing happened then admits there was a kiss but no tongue, before altering his statement again to: maybe Rosemarie stuck her tongue in my mouth but I didn't want it. By story change number four it is clear to everyone in the room, including the still-crying Ikki twins that Josh is full of it. In a final dramatic twist to confession time, the Ikki Twins give each of the remaining contestants knives and ask them to stab the life-size cut out of the fellow contestant they think should be eliminated. Everyone goes straight for Josh, save Xoe who refuses to stab anyone, because "she's not a backstabber."

When it's Josh's turn with the knife, everyone in the room is expecting he'll go straight for Rosemarie or Trevor for telling the Ikki Twins about the make-out session. Instead, he stands up and declares his love for Rosemarie--you know, the girl he just denied ever kissing. "I have to tell the truth," Josh says (sure you do Josh) "Rosie, I care about you more than I care about the twins, I really do." Everyone's jaws hit the floor, including Rosemarie, who's now curled into the fetal position, and the Ikki Twins are crying again. Then Josh drops another bomb, saying to Rosemarie "I wish you'd be honest (ha!) and tell them the truth, it's happened more than once." So, let me get this straight, in a matter of minutes Josh has gone from denying there was a kiss to saying there was a kiss but Rosemarie shoved her tongue down his unwilling-throat to there was more than one kiss. This is the final straw for the Ikki Twins, who demand Josh leave the house. Josh asks Rosemarie to come with him, which she refuses, eventually Josh is dragged out of the house by Scott and Trevor. When he's outside the house, Josh changes his story one last time, telling the Ikki Twins (who've come to see him off) that "he's just scared of rejection" and that everything he'd just said about Rosemarie was a lie. The Ikki Twins cry some more, swear a lot, and then slam the door on Josh's face telling him "karma's a bitch." They should have also given him the number of a good therapist, because he needs one.

When the Ikki Twins return they have a heart to heart with Rosemarie and ask her to remain in the house, because she was at least honest about the situation. Despite the fact that Josh has left and now it's only five remaining contestants, the Ikki Twins still have to send one person home. While I was certain Rosemarie would get kicked to the curb for her cheating ways, the twins chose to send home Xoe, because she's still in the closet and unwilling to introduce the twins to her family. As has been the case in all the eliminations, the Ikki Twins saved Trevor first from elimination. It's clear that both twins are developing strong feelings for the surfer cutie, which unless this is A Double Shot at Big Love, is going to become a problem very very soon.

Next Week on A Double Shot at Love: The Ikki Twins meet the families of the remaining contestants, and at least one of the home visits goes horribly wrong.
