The fourth installment of the
Beverly Hills continuity seems to be pulling in the stars. A handful of the original cast has already signed on to the edgier
90210, and the show is even asking for more. One of those returning is
Tori Spelling, who is reprising her role as Donna Martin in the spin-off. She doesn't want Donna to be lonely, so she requested her real life husband Dean McDermott to be cast alongside her.
The American actress and famed daughter of Aaron Spelling has launched a bid to give Dean a guest spot on the forthcoming
90210. The teen drama is slated to premiere in September, but Tori is frantic. The U.S. tabloid
Star has reported that she will most likely stop at nothing just to share her spotlight with Dean.
A source told the magazine that Tori Spelling has asked the producers of
90210 to add her actor-husband to the cast. “[M]aybe a guest starring role that could turn into something permanent,” said the unnamed informant.
“Tori would love to work with Dean on
90210. They could carpool to the set and bring their kids,” the source added.
McDermott and Spelling were wed in 2006 in a private ceremony in Wakaya, Fiji. Spelling was interviewed earlier this year about her happy family life, especially with the announcement of the birth of their second child last June 6. The couple has two children together, named Liam and Stella, while McDermott has a son, Jack, from a previous marriage.
Though there isn't any confirmation about his
90210 guest spot yet, McDermott can be seen in his next movie,
Saving God. He has enjoyed fame in portraying Doc Barlow in Kevin Costner's
Open Range in 2003. McDermott is, however, best known for his role as Constable Turnbull in the Canadian series
Due South. With his experience in acting on the small screen,
90210 producers will definitely have to consider casting Dean McDermott in the new
Beverly Hills drama.
