30 Rock is one of the few genuine hits that NBC has on its schedule, and I'm sure that the network can't wait for the show to come back mid-season. Boy has this fall been rough for the peacock. Wiill Alec Baldwin leave the show after the upcoming sixth season and dedicate his life to politics? Spoilers ahead!

New Love Interest for Liz

First, some casting news! James Marsden, who most recently guest starred on Modern Family, has been cast to appear over a multi-episode arc as a new love interest for Liz Lemon, who really hasn't had much luck in that department over the past five years.

After Jon Hamm and Matt Damon, Marsden will try his best to make Liz's heart melt, and it's not like she isn't receptive to male rutting calls. Anyone remember the beeper king? It's just that Liz can be a little eccentric at times and scare people (including love interests) away.

You Don't Know Jack

Alec Baldwin has been openly flirting with the idea of leaving the show behind when his contract is up in May 2012. Executive Producer Lorne Michaels has been denying rumors that the show is already planning for upcoming seasons without Jack but has also said "I can't imagine doing the show without Alec, but I couldn't imagine doing [Saturday Night Live] without Chevy [Chase]." So 30 Rock will continue with or without Baldwin.

In other Jack Donaghy news, Will Arnett, who is currently trying to regain TV star status on the low-rated NBC sitcom Up All Night, will be reappearing in season 6 of 30 Rock. Which is very good news. Not only has Devon Banks brought Arnett an Emmy nomination, but Jack's nemesis is always insanely fun to have around. Now we have until early 2012 to guess when in the season he will make his appearance!
