Scott Adsit is a comedian and writer who was born on June 10, 1974 in Circle Pines, Minnesota. During the 90s, he was a cast member of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Chicago, and participated in several Joseph Jefferson Award-winning performances. He has also worked together with the future head writer for
Saturday Night Live, Adam McKay. Adsit has declared that the mission of comedy should be no less than to change the world with humorous songs and skits. Aside from his work as an onstage funnyman, he has also acted in several television productions. Among these are
CSI: Miami, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and
Malcolm in the Middle.
Peter Hornberger is portrayed by Scott Adsit in the Emmy Award-winning NBC comedy series
30 Rock. He is a producer for the fictional television show TGS with Tracy Jordan, and has collaborated closely together with head writer Liz Lemon for over a decade. He is often Liz’s most trusted confidante, and is generally the straight man compared to the antics of the other people around them. Peter is married and has two sons, though his family remains unseen. It’s also implied that his wife has an overbearing demeanor, whom he will go through much trouble for in order to make her happy.
