The Oprah Winfrey Show’s latest season opened with a bang as the Queen of Talk welcomed home the Olympians who brought home medals for Team USA. Some 170 athletes were on location at Chicago’s Millennium Park, where many gathered to see the return of the nation’s best athletes.
American Idol season 7 winner
David Cook was also on hand to sing his winning single, “Time of My Life,” which was used as the Beijing Olympics 2008 theme song.
Now that
Oprah has successfully kicked off the 23rd season of her highly successful talk show, she’s moving on to other endeavors, including appearing as a guest on an equally successful television show.
Last week, E! Online reported that Oprah Winfrey is in final talks to guest star on NBC’s
30 Rock, which comes back to airwaves this October. Furthermore, Oprah is said to be appearing on the show’s episode 302, which is tentatively set to air on November 6. She is set to play herself in a storyline opposite
Tina Fey’s Liz Lemon and will also be involved in a feud between Jordan (
Tracy Morgan) and Jenna Maroney (
Jane Krakowski).
Tina Fey previously made her thoughts known to public that she really wanted Oprah to have a stint on
30 Rock. Apparently, Fey and Oprah talked about it in Fey’s guest appearance on
The Oprah Winfrey Show during a commercial break, audiences noted.
In April, Tina Fey told reports, “I still want Oprah to play my best friend...and I don't know what I need to do to make that happen.”
Apparently, the ball has started rolling, and we are just a month away from seeing Oprah on
30 Rock. The NBC series starring Tina Fey,
Alec Baldwin and Tracy Morgan returns to television screens on October 30th at 9:30pm for a star-studded third season.
