Fans are already awaiting the upcoming third season of
30 Rock, which hits NBC beginning October 30th at 9:30pm. The Golden Globe, Emmy Award WGA and TCA Award-reaping comedy series is now in its third year, and has set the record for having the most program nominations for a comedy series in a single awards year. The fact that the Emmys have a guest actor and actress category helped in reaping in the awards, as the show managed to land seven out of the 11 nomination spots.
Nonetheless,
30 Rock executive producer Marci Klein says that it’s the brilliant writers behind the show that should be given credit for coming up with the content and the faces to play the characters they’ve written. She adds, “Tina (Fey) is really brilliant -- as well as Robert (Carlock) and John Riggi, all the writers there. They're all really good at writing for someone's voice. If that person reads the script, it's obvious they would want to do it because it's just written for them.”
Fans would also be delighted to know that Will Arnett, who previously played Jack Donaghy’s (
Alec Baldwin) devious arch nemesis Devin Banks, will return on the season premiere. No word yet on what storyline he may be picking at, but surely, fans will be happy to welcome him back.
More familiar faces in the upcoming season of
30 Rock include
Friends’ very own
Jennifer Aniston, whose character and storyline has not yet been revealed.
A source tells E!, that Aniston “is shooting now,” but “we are not giving any specifics on her character.”
Jennifer Aniston’s appearance brings us back to
Friends co-star
David Schwimmer’s guest stint last season. She also more recently appeared on
Dirt as
Courteney Cox’s best friend. The 39-year-old actress has been focusing on making films, but is now making guest appearances on television.
Catch
30 Rock as it returns to television screens on October 30 at 9:30pm on NBC.
