Recently, we made fans squeal in delight after reporting that the Queen of Talk herself will be gracing the set of NBC’s
30 Rock, in which she is set to play herself in a storyline opposite
Tina Fey’s Liz Lemon. You already know that Tina Fey has been clamoring for Oprah’s guest appearance on the show as Liz’s best friend, and today, we bring you even more good news about Oprah’s little stint on the Emmy Award-winning comedy.
Yesterday, the EVP of NBC Entertainement, Teri Weinberg announced that Oprah's episode will indeed air on November 6, and that she has recently filmed the episode at
30 Rock's Silvercup studios in New York City.
"Oprah Winfrey's presence on
30 Rock makes this episode a television event," Weinberg said. "She is a true legend in her own time, and in this comedy's tradition, it provides the perfect showcase for stars of her renowned status. We are all thrilled."
Series creator, executive producer and star Tina Fey adds that “Oprah is very funny in the episode and we are beyond grateful to have her. Also, I would like to announce that we are officially best friends.”
Oprah Winfrey is just one of several high-profile celebrities who will be part of
30 Rock’s highly anticipated third season. In fact, other stars who will be appearing include Megan Mullally,
Jennifer Aniston and Will Arnett.
30 Rock stars Golden Globe Award-winner Tina Fey and
Alec Baldwin, alongside
Jane Krakowski,
Scott Adsit,
Jack McBrayer,
Judah Friedlander, Katrina Bowden and Keith Powell. The Emmy Award-winning show is executively produced by Tina Fey, Lorne Michaels (
Saturday Night Live), Marci Klein (
Saturday Night Live), David Miner and Robert Carlock (
Friends).
30 Rock’s third season begins airing on television on October 30 at 9:30pm on NBC, with a special online premiere on October 23.
