On the last episode of
30 Rock,
Jennifer Aniston came for a visit as Liz's (
Tina Fey) former roommate Claire Harper. Fortunately or unfortunately, she developed a stalker-ish kind of obsession toward Jack (
Alec Baldwin), at one point dressing like a French maid (and kissing him) and singing him happy birthday when it's not his birthday. Meanwhile, asked how kissing the former
Friends star was like, Baldwin sarcastically said, “It was painful. I mean, every man who's had to make out with her in TV and movies — I don't know how they do it."
Delving on the question further, Baldwin was asked whether or not he agreed on the premise of that episode: that unstable possibly deranged women are better lovers. "That's assuming I've been with crazy women,” he said. “If I answer that question in the affirmative, that would type a woman I've been with as being crazy, which I don't really feel like doing. But I hear it's true. I hear from my friends it's true."
The appearance of Aniston on
30 Rock, however, did little for the show's ratings, as it resulted in the series' lowest turn-out for the season so far with 7.5 million viewers. The record was previously held by the episode where Oprah was the guest star, at 8.1 million. Nevertheless, the show is still enjoying a ratings upgrade from its 6.4 million average last season and 5.8 million average on its first. The boost is attributed mainly to Fey's hit Sarah Palin act on her former show
Saturday Night Live.
On tonight's episode of
30 Rock, Liz meets eccentric businessman and a friend of Jack's Gavin Volure. Gavin becomes enamored with Liz, after offering Jack a secret business opportunity. Jack wants the relationship to go farther until it appears that there is more to Gavin than meets the eye.
