What Are They Up To? 24's Carlos Bernard

Carlos Bernard became a household name as a cast member of the award-winning series 24. Playing the fictional federal agent Tony Almeida earned him a nomination for an Imagen Award for Best Supporting Actor, and a Screen Actors Guild nomination along with the cast of 24 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. As one of the longest running characters on 24 next to Kiefer Sutherland, he made a total of 95 appearances, holding his role for three seasons until his character was written out by the end of season three in 2004, and returned midway through season four on 2005, where he was credited as a special guest star. In 2006, he returned to be credited as a main cast member on 24’s fifth season, only to have his final character ending after four appearances.

After 24, He made a guest appearance on the Megan Mullally show. He was also seen as a regular on the television miniseries 10.5: Apocalypse, where he played Dr. Miguel Garcia. As a baseball aficionado, he played in a celebrity softball game, wearing a Chicago Cubs baseball cap as part of the Major League Baseball All-Star festivities, and even sang “Take Me Out to the Ball Game at Wrigley Field. He also became visible as a player on the World Poker Tour in the Hollywood games for the PS Arts charity, where he earned $10,000.

Bernard is currently working on a Fox comedy-drama series called Nurses, which is about the personal and professional lives of a bunch of nurses. He will be playing the character Dr. Richmond. To be released on June 1, 2007, the upcoming series also stars Eliza Dushku, Sara Rue, Jaclyn DeSantis, Drew Sidora, Lynn Redgrave, Ramon Rodriguez, David Furr and Alexandra Billings just to name a few.
