Jack Bauer, now returned from exile, made several tough decisions already on day six of 24. He put a bullet in his friend, Curtis Manning; he left and returned to CTU following a nuclear explosion in Southern California. With four more nuclear weapons placed in the States by mega-terrorist Fayed, Jack undeniably receives a lot on his plate after leaving China as a prisoner, but the undefeatable, indefinable Bauer certainly will not let his hang-ups get in the way of performing his job in the best way he knows how. 24, as always, brings it. • Watch for Valencia and the immediate surrounding area to attempt to make sense of and wake up from the explosion.
• Expect the commencement of a full scale assault by CTU to find the remaining nuclear weapons.
• Jack's personal, family life with Graham causes a minimal, frustrating nuisance on Jack.
• Jack occupies his blurry conscience by providing aid to the pilot of a nearby helicopter crash.

This hour most likely will be a set-up for the day to come. We'll begin to find out more about all the major characters' motivations, the identities of the villains, and perhaps some foreshadowing of the day to come. Don't watch this episode expecting a lack of intensity or action; 24 relies on its persistent thrills.
