Graem Bauer Paul David McCrane was born on January 19, 1961 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was a student at Holy Ghost Preparatory School. Aside from acting, McCrane has also tried his hand in directing some episodes of television series like Without a Trace,
The West Wing and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In addition, he, along with Michael Gore, Anthony Evans, Dean Pitchford, Lesley Gore and Robert F. Colesberry, received a 1981 Grammy Award nomination for Best Album Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or Television Special for his work on Fame. His performance on Fame also earned McCrane a Young Artist Award Nomination for Best Young Actor- Major Motion Picture.

McCrane also appeared as Graem Bauer on the hit television series, 24. He first joined the cast during the show's fifth season, and was brutally killed off during the 5th episode of season six. He and his wife, Dana Kellin, have been married since 1998. McCrane and Kellin, who is a jewelry designer, have one son, William Thomas, and one daughter, Noa Catherine.
