Ethan learns about the gas plant. They need Henry Taylor to convince the president to withdraw troops. Ethan tells the president about Kidron, Ohio. The projected loss of life is over 15,000. Jack and Renee keep moving in the vents – Chloe tells them about Kidron. Jack uses a fiber-optic camera to a look at Dubaku's control room. Three men with automatic weapons, three at the control station, Nichols and Dubaku.
Janis talks to Brunner at the plant. He's going to try and manually release some of the gas, buy the people of Kidron some more time. Unfortunately, I think Brunner is going to die for his country. Janis walks him through the sequence to release the gas. And, yes, this will probably kill Brunner. He punches in the sequence, turns a valve. Then another, then one more.
Dubaku is informed of a security camera feed that shows Bauer, Tony and Bill entering the building. Dubaku decides to leave immediately, fearing the wrath of the Bauer. In doing so, he relinquishes control of the firewall to the government. Tony and Bill move in, and a big gunfight begins. Nichols comes to snag the Mutobos, but Renee shoots him in the face. The boys kill everyone except for Dubaku, but they find the CIP device – it has been destroyed, probably by Dubaku. Renee takes the Mutobo's to the van, Bill and Tony do one more sweep to try and find Dubaku.
Janis talks to John Brunner, and Brunner confirms that everything is coming back to normal. Well, except for Brunner himself, who appears as if he's about to die.
Renee brings the Mutobos to the van. Chloe tells the team that the authorities are five minutes away. Dubaku has found the original nerd guy, the one who helped rig the CIP, and will use him as a shield or something. Dubaku has threatened the life of Mike's family. Bauer, Tony and Bill walk into the room with Dubaku, but Mike is rigged with explosives and he blows up. The three ex-CTU agents take cover, are OK, but Dubaku gets away. Jack, Bill and Tony head back to the van.
Moss wants to know what happened! Sean doesn't know. Moss shares a moment with a picture of Renee on his computer screen. Janis wants to talk to Brunner's family – she was the last person he talked to.
Dubaku is escaping on the subway. Huh.
