24: Episode 7.6, "1:00pm to 2:00pm" Recap (Page 2/3)
Jack opens the back of the van and talks to Mutobo.  He explains the situation, and Mutobo looks receptive.  Dubaku talks to his white guy henchman.  He is about to go pick-up Mutobo.  Dubaku tells him to kill Emerson's team after they get Mutobo and his wife.  Dubaku, pissed that the president hasn't succumbed to his demands, decides that he is going to kill some Americans.  He decides to target Washington, D.C.

President Taylor is briefed by Ethan.  Taylor has learned that the firewall has been breached again, and it probably means that Dubaku is readying an attack.  Ethan says that they should pre-empt the attack.  He suggests after demanding an immediate pull-back, Dubaku will back down.  They've had this same conversation about thirty times this season.  We get it: Taylor doesn't want to pull troops out, Ethan does.  Blah, blah, blah.

Well, excuse that Kill Count.  Emerson is still alive.  Tony tries to apologize to Emerson, but Emerson tells him to go to hell.  Mutobo listens to more of Jack's wisdom.  At the urging of his wife, Mutobo will work with Jack.  He wants Mutobo to bring his wife, use her as bait.  Mutobo's wife tells him that she wants to do this.  She still feels bad about opening the door to the panic room.  Mutobo can't say no to his wife.  They're in.  Jack goes to see Tony.  Emerson looks legitimately dead now.  Tony is having some trouble with it.

Dubaku works from his unnecessarily dark control room.  They are controlling a plane, sending it over the White House.  Ethan tells Taylor that they can't localize the firewall breach.  Right at that second, an aide gets a cell phone call.  It's from Dubaku, he wants to speak with Taylor.  Dubaku tells her how upset he is that she hasn't taken his demands seriously.  He tells her to go look out of her southwest window.  She does – they watch as a plane explodes over Washington, D.C.  It looked like a commercial plane.  Holy crap!  Well, that sure increases this season's death toll.  Taylor is having a moment, speechless.

Well, apparently two planes collided.  A commercial flight of 240 people and 10 crew crashed into a commuter flight with 20 people in it.  It crashed in a residential area.  Also, a congressman was on one of the flights.  Taylor talks to the joint chiefs.  They all agree that the president needs to withdraw troops.  However, Taylor will not give in.
