Mary Lynn Rajskub Joins '24: Live Another Day'
Thursday, August 1, 2013
In case you
weren't sure that Jack Bauer could save the world again, he won't be
doing it alone. FOX has announced that Mary Lynn Rajskub, who played
Jack's faithful CTU analyst friend Chloe O'Brien, will return for the
relaunch of 24.
24: Live Another Day is a miniseries event scheduled to air summer 2014. It brings back Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, CTU agent who always seems to be stuck saving the president or preventing a major terrorist attack. The new series will be set several years after the events of the final season of 24.
Sutherland and Rajskub are the only actors confirmed to return to the series. There are also many familiar names returning behind the scenes, including executive producers Howard Gordon, Jon Cassar (who will direct the first two episodes), Robert Cochran, Manny Coto, Evan Katz and David Fury. 24's Emmy-winning composer Sean Callery will also return to give the miniseries that signature sound.
Chloe O'Brien first joined the show in season 3 and remained an integral part until the series finale. Her quirky computer analyst provided an unusual comedic relief element that hadn't existed on the show before her arrival. Chloe has also proven herself to be Jack's closest friend, always willing to help him out.
What other memorable 24 alums would you like to see return? Are you hoping Mia Kirshner's Mandy is once again working for the bad guys? Will Elisha Cuthbert return as Jack's daughter now that Happy Endings has been canceled?
