24: Redemption, the two-hour
24 prequel, is only a month and a half away. The film, set in Africa in between
24's sixth and seventh seasons, will air on Sunday, November 23 on FOX. Jack Bauer, as played by
Kiefer Sutherland, is apparently searching for redemption in
Redemption, although why someone needs to be redeemed for saving the world many times over and just being a general bad ass is unclear.
FOX had originally titled the two-hour movie
24: Exile, which sounds a whole lot better in one writer's opinion – FOX must have liked the positive connotation of “Redemption” over the negative vibe that “Exile” gives off. If you like baseball, than you already know that FOX will be shoving the previews for
24: Redemption down your throats until the World Series is over. Recently, FOX held a special screening of
24: Redemption down in Los Angeles, and a couple reviews have already surfaced.
IGN's Eric Goldman gave the film a generally positive review. He noted that Jack Bauer isn't heavily involved in the first half of the movie, but when he does show up, things really start to heat up.
That's good. I'm hoping that
24: Redemption will act as a really cool prologue to the upcoming seventh season. IGN's review makes it seem like this is exactly the case.
The other review comes from IFMagazine, and they could not contain their excitement. They gave the film a hugely positive review, saying that Jack Bauer is back to his butt-kicking ways.
And I'm officially excited about having Jack Bauer back in my life as well. Before, I was scared of disappointment. No more. November 23 cannot come soon enough.
What are you lookign forward to more?
